How often can I use my Storied Places® home?

Each ownership interest (“Chapter”) will provide four (4) Planned Weeks usage per year, which are scheduled in selection rounds, plus unlimited additional access whenever space is available (Space Available).

Planned Week allocations are based on a rotating Priority Reservation System. Space Available usage refers to un-booked time remaining after all Owners have selected or exercised their Planned Week options. Owners may request Space Available usage through Storied Places OnCall™. Space Available usage may be booked for up to seven days at a time. Owners may have only one confirmed Space Available booking in the system at a time.

How is access to the community determined?

Your home can be accessed in two ways. The first is through Planned Weeks that are requested and scheduled prior to the upcoming season and are communicated by Storied Places OnCall™. The second is through Space Available usage. This access refers to un-booked time remaining after all Owners have selected or exercised their Planned Week options.

Can I exchange weeks with another Owner?

Yes. Storied Places® offers owners Trading Stories™, a program that enables owners from one resort to exchange a Planned Week with an owner from either their home resort or another community within the Storied Places® network.

Can I rent out my Planned Weeks?

No. To respect the intimate nature of Storied Places®, rental of homes is prohibited. However, an owner may assign their Planned Weeks to guests including friends and family.

How do I book my Planned Weeks?

Planned Weeks are booked by sending selections to Storied Places OnCall™ at predetermined times each year, well in advance of the upcoming season (for example in July for the upcoming Winter season). Owners submit their selections for Planned Weeks, for each round, by indicating a minimum of three choices. After scheduling of such Planned Weeks, the process is repeated for second round and third round and so on. At completion of each round of the scheduling process, Owners are assigned their choices based on the order of rotation priority for that year, published in advance for a ten-year period, and re-cycling for ten-year periods thereafter.

Will I get my Planned Weeks for the times I want?

A Rotating Priority Reservation System has been established in conjunction with a PhD mathematician to ensure that requests for Planned Weeks are equitable and fair with a high probability of getting the weeks you requested. While The Rotating Priority System is used to determine reservation confirmation priority when more than one request for a certain time period, for a particular Home, is received, it will not always guarantee that you get your first choice.

Can I book two Planned Weeks consecutively?

Yes. Owners may book two Planned Weeks consecutively during their first Planned Vacation, as long as one week is designated as a non-prime week. If an Owner books both their Planned Weeks in a season back-to-back during the first selection round, then that particular Owner will be skipped during the second selection round for that season.

How do I book Space Available Weeks?

Owners may book Space Available usage through Storied Places OnCall™. Space Available usage may be booked for up to seven days at a time. Space Available usage requests are subordinate to Planned Week usage (per above). Space Available stays of longer than seven days begin a new cycle of Space Available usage. Each Owner may have only one confirmed Space Available reservation in the system at a time. Space Available usage fees are subject to change at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

Can my family or friends stay at Storied Places®?

As is true with any second home, an Owner may allow unaccompanied friends and family members to use his/her Planned Weeks, but to ensure maximum flexibility for Owners in reserving Space Available weeks, friends and family members are not allowed to use Space Available weeks unless accompanied by the owner.

Can I make changes to my Planned Vacation after it has been confirmed?

You have the Reservation Booking Period (usually a month) to plan and submit your Planned Weeks. During this period you may make as many changes as you like. However, once Planned Weeks have been confirmed, if you would like to change them Storied Places OnCall™ will make every attempt to accommodate you with the weeks which are still available, otherwise you will also have Trading Stories™ to make an exchange with another owner.

Are Planned Weeks rolled over each year if they are not used?

No. Unused Planned Weeks are forfeited if not used within the year.

Can I use two of my Planned Weeks at my own resort and two at another Storied Place?

Yes, you may exchange Planned Weeks through the Trading Stories™ program. However, it is not guaranteed that you will find an exchange.

If I want to buy this simply for the exchange program is this for me?

Probably not. Storied Places® has designated intimate communities in it's resorts that our owners in that area love to visit.  Storied Places® also has an exchange program between its own locations and select member locations. This is not a reciprocity program. It is a program that assists owners with direct exchanges between one another for Planned Weeks.
